The relationship between the burdens and purpose of life, objectives, meaning and temdencies of living in the families whom has mentally disturbed children

The mail aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship between the burdens and purpose of life, objectives, meaning and tendencies of living in the families whom has mentally disturbed children; In the screening model, cross-sectional and descriptive design was used as relationship seeking. The universe of the research (between November 2019- June 2020) parents at Private Education Center (N: 144); the sample of the study consisted of 100 parents who volunteered for the study. The data of the study was collected with the "Personal Information Questionnaire" containing the socio-demographic characteristics of the parents, "Family Burden Scale", "Aim in Life, Meaning and Life Orientation Scale". In the evaluation of the data of the research: descriptive statistical analyses (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, minimum and maximum), Correlation tests, Cronbach Alpha, independent t test, One Way ANOVA test, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis tests were used. Most of the parents are between 40-45 years old, married, have 2 children, nuclear family type. In the control group The fathers are working, mothers are not working, and there is a mild mental disability ın the children, their income is almost equal to each other, children are in the 7-10 age group. It was determined that the subject went to an ordinary school rather than private education, mothers' perception of inadequacy, emotional burden, time requirement was higher than fathers. Between mothers' goal scale and perception of inadequacy; negatively, very weakly, the presence of meaning in life and life orientation levels are moderate. The level of presence of meaning in life is weak / medium between the need for economic burden, perception of social burden, physical burden, emotional burden and time. It was determined that there was a weak negative relationship between the level of seeking the meaning in life and the level of life orientation negatively, weakly, seeking meaning in life was weakly between social burden, physical load and emotional load (p<0,05) was determined.
