Abstract (EN)

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is very common in the world. The incidence of H. pylori increases, particularly in relation to low socio-economic status, inadequate health measures, collective living conditions and problems in water resources. People infected with H. pylori and with excessive acid secretion carry a great risk of gastric ulcer, gastric cancer and duodenal ulcer. Especially in patients with gastric cancer diagnosed with H. pylori and eradicated with antimicrobial therapy, the risk of cancer is greatly reduced. In this study, it was aimed to contribute to the treatment plan by finalizing the diagnosis and making early diagnosis as a result of referring the people with H. pylori to the Gastroenterology Clinic and applying further tests. In this study conducted on 318 individuals (189 female, 129 male, 17-83 years) (mean age 45.24) randomly selected from the patients who applied to our Family Health Center in Van city center; Fecal fast antigen cassette test with specificity of 100%, sensitivity of 98.8% and accuracy of 98.9% was used from non-invasive tests. At the end of the study, whether the patients had gastric complaints, whether or not drug use affecting H. pylori microbe, gender, age and test result information were analyzed by SPSS program and the results were evaluated. In our study, H. pylori was found to be positive in the feces of 129 (40.6%) of whom 75 (58.1%) were female and 54 (41.9%) were male. In terms of the test result positivity ratio of the genders themselves; H. pylori was found to be positive in 39.7% of women and 41.9% of men. The age range of those who were positive for H. pylori was 17-74 and the mean age was 45.90, and H. pylori positivity also increased in parallel with the advancement of age. 43.3% in the 46-65 age group and 41.4% in the 65-83 age group; In this case, the highest rate was in the 46-65 age group (43.3%), but it was found to decrease slightly in the following age groups. Gastric complaints were observed in 91 (70.5%) of the positive test results. Since H. pylori antigen positivity rate is close to each other in men and women, there is no possibility of susceptibility to H. pylori in favor of any genus. H. pylori can be seen at any age and increases with age progression. When compared with other studies conducted in our country, it is important to have low H. pylori positivity in this study. Test positivity rate is higher in people with gastric complaints. The effect of PPI use on H. pylori eradication is clear. In our society, drug use in general and in particular the use of antimicrobial and PPI (Proton Pump Inhibitor) drugs are very common, and it is possible that H. pylori was unintentionally treated.
