Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the role of rumination in the relationship between mother attitude, perfectionism and psychological health of the gifted adolescents. Psychological health is evaluated by the depression and self-esteem variables. The study included 156 gifted adolescents aged 10-17 from the Science and Art Education Center (BILSEM). Demographic Form, Frost Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, Parental Rearing Behaviors Questionnaire-Mothers Form (s-EMBU), Short Form of Rumination Scale, Depression Scale for Children and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) were applied to participants. Data collected analyzed using independent sample t-test, regression and mediation. All the findings obtained in this study suggest the role of rumination in the relationship between the perfectionism and psychological health proved to be significant. Similarly, the role of rumination in the relationship between the gifted adolescent's perceived mother attitude and psychological health was significant. Results were discussed within the framework of the relevant literature.
