Abstract (EN)
As a word reform means restatement, correction, regulation and reclamation. In this study, titled "Reform Movements in Ancient Rome (Republican Period)" and prepared as a master's thesis, causes and consequences of the reforms carried out in the Roman Republican Period were analysed. Ancient and modern sources were examined and the findings were interpreted. The result of the study shows the fact that the necessary reforms in the Roman Republican Period could not be carried out in time and the reforms were not in sufficient scope resulted with the disappearance of the Roman Republic. It is possible to classify the reforms carried out in the Roman Republican period under four main headings: political, social, economic and military. The reforms made and desired to be carried out in these areas occurred in parallel with the class conflicts that emerged as a result of not being loyal to the Republican regime.
