Literature and objectivity in children's travel books

The genre of travel writing has gained a different dimension in Turkish Literature with the book "Travelnâme" written by Evliya Çelebi. There are many works written in this field. Through these works, writers share the places they visit with the readers. While doing this, the authors include their impressions, feelings and thoughts about the places visited in their narratives. Travel writing was also included in the Turkish curriculum starting from the 6th grade, and books written in this genre were used. It is important to investigate such books in terms of literary and objectivity. Because works with strong literary aspects in Children's Literature strengthen children's aesthetic perspectives and increase their knowledge about social and sciences. The main purpose of the thesis is to reveal the literary and objectivity dimensions of the works in question. The works examined in the thesis study were limited to the travel writing type books used as a source in Turkish textbooks. In the study conducted through qualitative research, the findings were reached by document analysis. In the study, the literary and objective features of the examined travel writing books of Evliya Çelebi, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, Mehmet Önder, Gülten Dayıoğlu were determined. It has been determined that these literary and objective features can contribute to the personal, cognitive and social development of children. The compatibility of the obtained objective elements with the information in real sources was examined. In the introduction part of the thesis, the purpose and importance of the research, its method, scope, limitation and problem situation are explained. In the first chapter, the basic concepts are stated under separate headings. In the second part, the method and method of the study; In the third part, information about the lives and literary understandings of the authors whose works were examined in the thesis study was given. In the fourth chapter, the findings obtained from the works examined and the comments on these findings are given in two parts under the main headings of "Literary" and "Objectivity". It was thought that the research would be easier to understand by creating subheadings depending on the main headings. In the conclusion and suggestions section, an evaluation has been made regarding the literary and objectivity dimensions of the works with the determinations made in the travel writing genre works.
