Abstract (EN)

Aim: to investigate the biochemical parameters, body composition, basal and daily energy expenditure of children in pubertal stage III-IV with exogen obesity and to examine the changes in these parameters with diet and aerobic exerciseMaterials and Methods: fourteen children in puberty stage III-IV and thirteen healthy children were included into the study. Weight, height, body mass index (BMI) and biochemical parameters of each grups were measured. A dietary restriction was made for obese patient group and they were taken into aerobic exercise programme. Psichiatric support was maintained. The circumference of waist/hip, skinfold thickness and basal metabolic rate were measured. Daily energy expenditure was calculated with actiheart. Whole parameters were remeasured after exercise programmeResults: Body mass index, SGPT, fasting glucose, insulin, glucose/insulin, HOMA-IR, total colesterol, LDL, VLDL, trigliserid, visfatin levels were higher in obese patients. TNF-?, IL-10 and APO A levels were lower in these group (p< 0.05). BMI, waist and hip circumference, waist/hip ratio, body fat mass, skinfold thickness, HOMA-IR, SGOT, SGPT, total cholesterol, VLDL, triglyceride, visfatin and hs-CRP levels were decreased whereas the levels of TNF-?, IL-6, IL-10 and daily energy expenditure were increased in obese group after exercise programmeConclusion: We concluded that exercise changed body composition, decreased the levels of total cholesterol, VLDL, triglyceride, insulin resistance and increased daily energy expenditureKey words: Actiheart, adipokins, aerobic exercise, anthropometric measurements, diet, exogen obesity
