Politics and politicians of Uşak in the Republican Era (1923-1980)

In this study, with the proclamation of Republic both one-party and multiply-party periods have been handled according to the political parties, elections, members of parliament and local goverment.The political life of Uşak, which was previously a distict of Kütahya and then became a city in 1953, was researched in details and the political actions were also transferred objectively.Main sources that form the basis of this study are; The Prime Ministry State Archieve, The library and the Archieve of Turkish Grand National Assembly, Beyazıt State Library, The Archieve of Uşak Municipality and the Private Archieves of Oğuz Ersoy and Alâattin Ergönenç.The impacts of political developments on Uşak which were experienced between 1923 and 1980 and the events that have repercussions on national policy are the other subjects of the study.Key words: The Republican Era, Politics, Elections, Political Parties, Uşak, The Politicians of Uşak.
