A workship to determine the effect of emotional i̇ntelligence ability of primary and secondary school administrators on the levels of succes: Akçaabat sample

The main objective of this study is to investigate and reveal the relationship betweeb emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills of managers who work in primary and secondary schools. In this context, the concepts of emotional intelligence and problem solving have been examined separately. In this study, 108 managers who work in the primary and secondary schools in Akçaabat district of Trabzon Province, have been specified and surveyed. Emotional intelligence scale has been used to measure their level of emotional intelligence and problem solving scale is used for problem-solving skills. The validity and reliability of both have been conducted. All statistical analyzes of the research have been done with SPSS 16 for Windows package program. In statistical procedures, correlation coefficient has been calculated in order to determine the relationship between problm-solving skills and emotional intelligence. Independent group t-test is conducted for two group comparisons and analysis of varience (ANOVA) is conducted for multiple group comparisons. The signifiance of the statistics is tested at the level of .05 and in two-ways, and has been presented in table form. According to the data obtained from the study, a moderate, positive and significant relation has been found between the level of emotional intelligence and problem-solvig skills of school administrators. Also, according to the same results, school administrators' emotional intelligence and problem-solving skills don't differ in accordance with their age, sex and experiences.
