Determine the cost of the patients with longer stays in KTU, Farabi Hospital, Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive

Health care system and the economic system is closely related with each other. The health sector has also been affected as a result of globalization of economic changes and developments. Therefore, all events that are experiencing in economic and social life is closely influencing the health care system. Hospital enterprises, medical institutions that offer health services, as well as, they have also economic and social aims. Hospital enterprises, in the provision of health services, have essentially tasks for physically and mentally healthy of society. Delivery of health services in the most effective and efficient use of scarce resources, the hospital costing approach is the most important and effective tools. Nowadays changing and evolving this viewpoint, the limited resources allocated for health services at the point of evaluating the optimal way and ensuring efficiency, medical institutions must be perceived as an enterprise. Therefore, the cost information of resources provide to use hospital sources in the most efficient way and decision-making of managers accurately. In this thesis, we aimed to determine the cost of the patients with longer stays in Karadeniz Technical University Farabi Hospital Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In conclusion, the costs of patients with longer stays examined and understanding of the structure and functioning of the hospital will be effective sources of information were obtained.
