Abu Dhar al-Ghifari's place in the narration of hadith

This thesis deals with Abu Dhar al-Ghifari's place in the narration of hadith. The first part of the thesis gives place to Abu Dhar al-Ghifari's life, which starting from the period before his becoming a Muslim, especially the period he spent with the Prophet and the incidents that he experienced during the period of the Khalifa Uthman. The second part of the thesis focussing on the position of the Sahaba in the hadith and the place of Abu Dhar in the narration of the hadith. This section, giving information about the place of hadiths narrated by Abu Dhar and its place in hadith literatüre. In the third chapter, the narrations of Abu Dhar in the hadith books are examined and classified according to their subjects. In this section, some narrations from Abu Dhar are evaluated regarding his understanding of hadith and sunnah. In the conclusion part of the thesis, Abu Dhar's understanding of hadith and sunnah and its place in the narration of hadith is evaluated.
