Ekonomik faktörlerin Zimbabve'de göç üzerindeki etkisi (2008-2019)

The emigration of Zimbabwe to other countries was triggered by many factors that included economic, social and political factors. The major cause for emigration of Zimbabwe was the hard-economic conditions between the year 2008 and 2019. Zimbabweans used emigration as a way of surviving the unliveable conditions that existed in Zimbabwe. Emigration of Zimbabweans had both favourable and unfavourable effects on Zimbabwe's economy. Remittances were a favourable effect on the economy and were used for the development of infrastructure and were also used to reduce poverty. However, brain drain had negative impact on the economy of Zimbabwe. The author used a mixed methodology to investigate the reasons for emigration and to what extent the factors influenced the decision of emigrants to emigrate from Zimbabwe to other destinations. Due to the outbreak of COVID- 19 pandemic, the researcher utilised online platforms to administer questionnaires of the research. After a deep analysis of the responses from the participants, the research found that a significant percentage of Zimbabweans emigrated for advancing their economic status in destination countries they emigrated to. Apart from emigrating for economic reasons, the research also discovered that Zimbabweans emigrated for other reasons that included education and family reunion. The researcher provided recommendations the government of Zimbabwe can implement to balance migration in Zimbabwe.
