Abstract (EN)
Aim: Evaluation of the relationship between body composition, lower extremity strength, balance and functional mobility for wrestlers. Material and Method: The mean age of the study was 20.04 ± 1.3 years, mean height was 175.10 ± .08 cm, mean body weight (BW) was 79.46 ± 15.1 kg, and mean sports age (SA) was 8.05 ± 2.3 78 freestyle wrestlers participated. To determine the body composition (BK) of the wrestlers, height and BW measurements were made and body mass indexes (BMI) were calculated. Skinfold thickness measurements were taken from four parts of the body (biceps, triceps, subscapula, and suprailiac) to calculate body fat percentage (BFP) and were calculated using the Siri formula. Measurements were carried out using a manual dynamometer to determine lower extremity strength (LES), Y-balance test to determine balance performance, and Functional Movement Analysis (FMS) test battery for functional movement analysis. For statistical analysis of study data IBM SPSS 25 statistical package program was used. Normality control of the data was done with Skewness and Kurtosis tests. Pearson correlation analysis was applied to determine the relationship between the variables, as the variables showed normal distribution. Significance levels were accepted as p<0.05 and p<0.01. Findings: According to the findings obtained from the study; While there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the BMİ components, Height, BW, and BMİ, BFP, LES, Right antreniör (RAA) and Left antreniör (LOA) values, a statistically negative correlation was found between the values of FMS, Left composite score (LOCS) and Right-Left composite score (RLCS) (p<0.05). While there was a significant positive correlation between BMİ value and LEF and LOA values, a statistically negative significant correlation was found between FMS, Right posteromedial (RAPM) and Left posteromedial (LOPM) values (p<0.05). A statistically negative significant correlation was observed between RAPM, FMS, Right composite score (RACS), LOPM, RLCS values in the BFP variable (p<0.005). While there was a statistically significant relationship between LEF and LAA values in AEC values, a negative correlation was found with FMS values (p<0.05). Result: A statistically positive and significant relationship was found between body composition components BW, Height, BMI and LES. In FMS total scores, there was a negative correlation with body composition components and LES, while a statistically significant positive correlation was found with balance. As a result, it was found that body composition was associated with lower extremity strength, balance and lower extremity strength were also associated with balance in wrestlers.
