Iran and Turkey had ruled and had fought for the leadership of the Middle Eastern lands during the hardest years of the region. However, changing regional conditions and global political problems had obstructed these states to get that leadership and to provide a stable system. The Middle East, which lived its brightest years during the Ottoman Empire administration, had fought against rebellions, clashes and civil wars during the last period of the Ottoman Empire. On the other hand, the hegemony of Iran had not survived long. After the decline of the Ottoman Empire, Turkey has drawn a new frame for itself and after the First World War, Britain and the US had ruled Iran; however, their hegemony could not provide stability for Iran. Iran Islamic Revolution had become a new era for Iran's history and the relations between Iran and Turkey. While Iran was trying to focus on its domestic matters and its war against Iraq, Turkey was trying to be a part of the politic process in the Middle East. After the 1980's, a very new era for the relations between the states had begun. Today, there are warm relations between two sides, the basic purpose of both states is about being more powerful against each other for the Middle Eastern politics.
