Abstract (EN)
In this study, 111 firefighters who agreed to participate in the study working in Istanbul Fire Stations between August 2021 and November 2021 were included in order to determine the risk of development of occupational musculoskeletal diseases in firefighters and to investigate the relationship of this situation with working and work conditions. The inquiry scales to be used in the research were recorded in Google Form and delivered to the participants in electronic environment via the communication network Whatsaap. Demographic information of the firefighters participating in the study was obtained. The Musculoskeletal Health Questionnaire (CISS-SS) Scale was used to evaluate the musculoskeletal system of the firefighters, and the Firefighters' Work and Working Environment Questionnaire Form was used to evaluate the work and working conditions. As a result of the data obtained, the relationship between the years of working in the profession and musculoskeletal system diseases was not found statistically significant (p>0.05). A significant correlation was found between the first four questions of the Questionnaire on Work and Working Environment for Firefighters and the Musculoskeletal System Health Questionnaire (CISS-SS) Scale (p<0.05). In conclusion, there is no relationship between occupational musculoskeletal diseases and work conditions in firefighters, and there is no incidence of occupational musculoskeletal diseases. Occupational musculoskeletal diseases do not increase as the duration of work in the profession increases in firefighters. According to the job title of the firefighters, the musculoskeletal system is the most affected firefighters.
