Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted to investigate to measure the isokinetic muscle strength of lower extremity hip and knee flexor-extensor muscle groups in female volleyball players and to examine the relationship between them and upper extremity functional tests. Athletes with an avaraage age of 17,89 ± 4.87 were included. 45 athletes between the ages of 14-35 who play active volleyball and have no orthopedic injury were selected for the study. Then, the demographic information of the individuals was recorded. Isokinetic muscle strength measurements of hip and knee flexor and extensor muscle groups in athletes were made with the CYBEX (CSMI HUMAC NORM Testing and Rehabilitation System) device and the results were recorded. Closed Kinetic Chain Upper Extremity Stabilization Test (CKCUEST), Medicine Ball Throwing Test (MBTT) and Y Balance Test (YBT) were applied for the upper extremity functional evaluations of the athletes. The Vertical Jump Test was applied to measure the anaerobic power generation capacity of the athletes, and according to the results of this test, the Anaerobic Power Measurements (APM) of the person was determined according to the Lewis Nomogram. For statistical analysis of the data, SPSS 22.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA) program was used for statistical analysis and P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. As a result of the analysis, a significant relationship was found between CKCUEST and knee 60 degrees / second Hamstring isokinetic muscle strength (p<0.05). A significant correlation was found between MBTT and 60 degrees / second and 180 degrees / second Hamstring isokinetic muscle strength (p<0.05). A significant correlation was found between MBTT and 60 degrees / second and 180 degrees / second Quadriceps Femoris isokinetic muscle strength (p<0.05). A significant correlation was found between MBTT and iliopsoas isokinetic muscle strength of 60 degrees / second and 180 degrees / seconds (p<0.05). No significant correlation was found between YBT and knee and hip 60 degrees/second and 180 degrees/second isokinetic muscle strengths. A significant correlation was found between APM and knee 60 degrees / second and 180 degrees / second Quadriceps Femoris isokinetic muscle strength (p<0.05). A significant correlation was found between APM and knee 60 degrees/second and 180 degrees/second Hamstring isokinetic muscle strengths (p<0.05). A significant correlation was found between APM and knee 60 degrees / second and 180 degrees / second iliopsoas isokinetic muscle strength (p<0.05).In conclusion, lower extremity knee and hip isokinetic muscle strength and upper extremity functional tests are correlated. As a result of the study ,it was determined that olwer exretmity muscle strenght and upper extremity functional capacity are correlated with each other in people who play volleyball. We think that is important to evaluate the people who play volleyball boyh as upper exremity and lower extremities together and perapare the training program to be applied considering these data.
