The subject of this study is the tumor cases and the treatment possibilities of these cases in cats and dogs brought to Adnan Menderes University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Animal Hospital. The sample of this study is 47 tumor cases (42 dogs and 5 cats) found in a total of 3731 subjects over a period of one year between 01/11/2016 and 01/11/2017. Of this sample 22 were male dogs, 20 were female dogs, 2 were male cats and 3 were female cats. The age distribution of the dogs in years was noted as 8 dogs between 0-5, 19 dogs between 5-10, 11 dogs between 10-15. The age distribution of the cats was 1 cat between 0-5, 2 cats between 5 -10 years, 2 cats between 10-15. The diagnostical distribution of 42 tumor cases in dogs was 4 osteosarcoma, 3 mast cell tumor, 2 round cell tumors, 3 hepatoid gland carcinoma, 3 fibrosarcoma, 1 leiomyosarcoma, 2 squamous cell carcinoma, 4 hemangiosarcoma, 6 mammary tumor, 1 synoval sarcoma, 1 chondrosarcoma, 1 fibropapilloma, 1 malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor, 1 malignant papillary adenocarcinoma and 1 ovarium papillary adenoma, 1 leiomyom, 1 malign melenoma, 1 malign mix tumor, 2 malign round cell tumor, 1 fibroleiomyosarcoma, 1 malign mesenchymal tumor and 1 malign large cell tumor whilst 5 cases in cats were 2 malign mesenchymal tumor, 1 osteosarcoma, 1 squamous cell carcinoma and 1 leiomyosarcoma. In the treatment of these cases, surgery (35 cases, 74.4%), surgery+chemotherapy (3 cases, 6.3%) and chemotherapy (1 case, 2.1%) and biopsy (2 cases, 4.25%) were carried out. In 4 (8.5%) of the cases the owners rejected treatment. In 2 cases (4.25%) only pain management was applied. As a result of the treatments, 23 cases (48.9%) died and 24 cases (51.06%) survived and at this stage still are healthy. Conclusion: The number of tumor cases in cats and dogs, brought to the clinic, were significant. Excisional biopsy was found sufficient for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. In the management of tumor cases, it was noted that the necessary infrastructure and training would be beneficial for the completion of the standard protocols in addition to raising awareness of animal owners.
