Abstract (EN)

In our study, the antioxidants epigallocatechin-gallate and resveratrol were investigated separately and together with respect to their biochemical effects on rat C6 glioma cell line.Epigallocatechin-gallate and resveratrol were treated at cell culture in doses of 50, 100 ?g and 25, 50 ?g and these doses combination at 24, 48 and 72 hours. At the end of these applications, total sialic acid, lipid bound sialic acid, protein carbonyl, malondialdehyde levels were determined and results were evaluated according to the Mann-Whitney U test. The obtained values were compared statistically, 100+50 ?g dose of catechin plus resveratrol group at 72 hour, total sialic acid level was statistically significantly lower than the control group (p<0.05). 50 ?g dose of catechin group at 24 hour, lipid bound sialic acid level and 25 ?g dose of resveratrol group at 24 hour, lipid bound sialic acid level was statistically significantly lower than the control group (p<0.05). 50 ?g dose of resveratrol group at 72 hour, protein carbonyl level was statistically significantly lower than the control group (p<0.05). A statistically significant doses and times show that a positive result against oxidative stress at total sialic acid, lipid bound sialic acid and protein carbonyl. A significant decrease in the level of malondialdehyde has not found so that dose and time periods at our materials were interpreted as the absence of a positive effect against oxidative stress. In conclusion, C6 glioma cells are affected by biochemical parameters with optimal dose and time and also these concentrations are suitable for our results. The study will be continued by adding different biochemical and cellular methods.Key Words: Epigallocatechin-gallate, Resveratrol, C6 glioma, Total sialic acid, Lipid bound sialic acid, Protein carbonyl, Malondialdehyde, Antioxidant.
