Abstract (EN)

Throughout history people enter the race to meet their needs at the best way from the world blessings. In this regard, with production facilities in hand they wanted to get the most output. Reduction of production facilities at a certain point, but the population continues to increase directed countiries, which had to make production, to another source to meet the needs. And today, colonial system, the basis of globalization has been created. According to this system, the recourses in that environment are transferred to the mainland and the raw materials, intermediate goods and consumption products meet the needs on the mainland.In later times, for the surplus production new markets are sought and yet the colonized countries were selected. This has helped to create mutual trade systems. With the growth of the trade between countries, globalization has gained popularity on the other hand foreign trade has developed and as a result of this country economies show development.With the globalization, the country economies have begun to seek new ways to expand their recourses and areas of ecnomic impact. Free zones have been established to expand the businesses and multinational companies operations areas in international trade and to improve the trade between countries.In this study, the statues of the free zones in Turkey and free zones in term of the globalization have investigated.In the first chapter, in general the concept of globaization and free zones are discussed. Their types, causes, historical development and channels of influence are investigated.In the second part, the historical developoment of the free zones in Turkey and operating in free zones are investigated.In the third and final chapter, the impacts of the operating free zones in Turkey on economy and factors affect the success of the free zones have been evaluated.Key Words: Globalisation, Free Zones, Foreign Trade
