Abstract (EN)
When it is called about teacher leadership or instructional leadership, the school administrators come to mind as first. However, in today's educational systems, student centering has increased and the necessity of continuation of teacher's professional development has come forward. In this context, it is necessary that all kinds of researches be rapidly multiplied and disseminated in order for the teacher to know, develop and functionalize leadership skills. The purpose of this research is to determine the present level of knowing and demonstrating the instructional leadership behaviors of the teachers who work in the public and private secondary schools in Düzce and to identify the opinions of the teachers about the teacher leadership. This study is expected to show the importance of teacher leadership for school and student achievement by developing a different point of view on teacher leadership which has been studied in a limited number of works in our country. One of the most effective ways in the leadership process is to work in communication and cooperation. For this reason, it is important to create awareness for the leader teachers and give an opinion to the researchers and contribute to the literature for other studies about the leadership of the teacher. For the purpose of the study, the collected data were processed into the statistics package program. It is seen that the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Z test has been tested for testing the assumption of normal distribution of scores in the context of the general and sub-factors of the perception and expectation scales of the teachers obtained from the scale, and it is seen that the distribution of points according to p>,05 is normal distribution, that is normality assumption. As a result of the study, it is seen that there is a relation between the expectations of the teachers who work in secondary schools about the necessity of instructional leadership behaviors and the perceptions of the degrees of display of instructional leadership behaviors. Teachers involved in this study have high expectations about the requirements of instructional leadership behaviors. For this reason, according to the results of the research, it can be said that the teachers are willing and ready for the development and implementation of the concept of instructional leadership in our country. With the new work to be done and the action plans to be implemented, it is foreseen that the rate of teachers showing their instructional leadership behaviors will increase rapidly.
