Organic agriculture sector potential: The case of Aydın province

Today, the need for food, which is one of the most important demands for human life, and the problem of clean food, which is an indispensable part of nutritional needs, are increasing. However, clean environmental awareness is an indispensable element at every stage of production. That is why the demand for organic food products has been increasing in recent years. Organic agriculture has a changing and advancing place as a branch of the agricultural sector all over the world. Organic agriculture is an agricultural process in which agricultural technology is processed within the framework of a clean environment and healthy food understanding. The increasing population in the world and the demand to meet the food needs of the increasing population have triggered the increase in the amount of production per square meter and the formation of a polluted world. For this reason, agricultural producers have recently focused on the organic agriculture sector, which has developed in parallel with the development of technological elements. Organic agriculture emerges as a developing and changing element all over the world. Turkey, with its wide and clean agricultural inputs, is open to development in organic agriculture and is one of the leading countries in the world's organic agriculture sector. Turkey is a country with large and fertile agricultural lands and clean water resources. Ensuring the continuation of sustainable agricultural activities depends on the clean and conscious production of sustainable agricultural activities in order to leave a clean environment and healthy food to future generations. The development and expansion of organic agriculture with the understanding of healthy food and clean environment for every individual will benefit every country and individual in the world. The province of Aydın, located in the western region of Turkey, is said to be the most beautiful land under the sky, said by Herodotus, which shows that Aydın is one of the most productive places in the world in terms of its climate and regional location. The presence of organic agriculture in Aydın province acts as a locomotive in the development focus of Turkish agriculture. As a matter of fact, there has been an increase in the inputs and outputs of organic agriculture in Aydın, as in the world and in our country. Today, it is an inevitable fact that organic agriculture can be sustained for all living things, depending on the developing technologies in agriculture. In this study, after the general situation of organic agriculture in the world and in Turkey, the potential of organic agriculture for Aydın province was examined. Descriptive image of organic agriculture in Aydın province was determined. For this reason, it is expected that this study will create a quality of consciousness in terms of the future perspective of the organic agriculture sector. In line with these purposes, realistic data on organic agriculture were collected, and trend analysis was performed after fixed and variable index calculations in the excel program, and the latest SWOT analysis method was used.
