Studies on folk literature's texts in secondary education's Turkish literature and language and expression textbooks

Oral tradition creates majority of source?s products of Turkish Folk Literature. In this way, cultural values of a nation locate in literature crops of that nation. Teaching these literary products to new generations provides both let live culture and allows the formation of historical consciousness in students. Textbooks used in schools allows for the advancement of education in line with everywhere of Turkey thanks to the principle of universality and equality in education. Folk literature texts in these books are important for folk literature products that nowadays replaced with popular products introducing and teaching to students. In this study, texts in which located secondary education?s Language and Expression and Turkish Literature textbooks that used in 2010-2011 academic year and certified by Presidency of the Board of Education of Ministry of Education investigated for whether reflect its kind features and national values.
