Therefore, the sample of the research consists of 9th, 10th , 11th and 12th grade Public Anatolian High School students from Central District of Ankara. While the study group comprises of some biology teachers (26) and students (51) from those schools visited in order to collect quantitative data for purposive sampling using maximum diversity method. The documentation used are Biology and Health Education subjects syllabuses that are the sources in which 'the viruses' topic was studied. The quantitative data collection tool is a questionnaire developed by the researches and called 'Views on Viruses'. However, for qualitative data collection, a semi-structured questionnaire, 'a semi-structured interview form about viruses' were used. According to the results obtained in the study, the number of gains and the time allocated for viruses in the secondary school biology and health sciences curriculum is insufficient, and it is seen that the fact that the viruses subject corresponds to the end of the semester creates disadvantages in learning the subject. Explain the content of the subject and the daily life according to the importance given by students and teachers in situations where viruses are learned. In addition to this, although the students suggested that viruses can be learned effectively thanks to the teacher's field competence, the teachers think that the subject can be learned more effectively with visual materials.
