Özet (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to assess the relationship between the political electoral campaign processes and the election results by analyzing the electoral campaigns of Republican People's Party and Justice and Development Party between 2002-2009 by taking the main relationships between Political Science and political communication into consideration. For this reason, the research method of this study in the first part is based on the following principles:- First of all, in order to form a basis for the comparison, political science is considered as a concept, and the definition and the characteristics as well as the methodology of political science are summarized.- With a similar attitude, political communication and political communication campaigns are presented as a brief summary. In the second part, 2002-2009 electoral strategies and political communication campaigns of Republican People's Party and Justice and Development Party are analyzed in terms of their similarities and differences.Communication has become one of the most important concepts as a result of the globalized world and the increase in the pace of life. Since communication sciences are based on Social Sciences, Political Science has been a discipline that I became interested in this process with both its theory and practice. I have focused on Political Science not just by trying to understand the historical process and the political philosophy behind the formation of the international relationships but also one-sided and mutual communication processes and with its newly-gained concepts, the ability of political marketing to be able to turn into votes with the persuasive power of the leadership and institutionalism on the society. In my studies, I began to analyze the functionality of the Public Relations in the political process and then its use when it is combined with the advertisement. While analyzing the reflection of active politics in political communication, we have tried to put forth a meaningful interaction in terms of the relationship established with the electorate when they act with an attitude resulting from the perception of its effects when used in political marketing by the party and party institutions. In the election periods analyzed, we agreed on these two parties that are at different ends. We decided to form a relationship of analysis and assessment on these two parties and their leaders.Political communication that is assumed to have begun when the right to elect and to be elected were given to the societies or gained by them have changed to an important degree especially with the development of the mass media and their becoming widespread, and the rapid developments in the communication technologies and marketing techniques have made it clear that the methods of political communication that are formed according to the social changes determine the direction of the politics in practice from the basic level to the most integrated approaches. The starting point of this study has been the methods and approaches of the parties used in political communication as a result of these changes with an understanding that has gained a representative quality with their leaders.
