Background: Diabetes is a chronic disease characterized by abnormally high blood sugar levels. People with diabetes may not be able to produce or use enough insulin to meet their needs. Objective: To assess the quality of life of patients with type2 diabetes. To identify the relationship between some characteristics of type 2 diabetes patients and quality of life. Methods: The cross-sectional descriptive study design was implemented in Diyala Governorate, Iraq, from December 2021 to April 2022 in Diyala city, and the current study was conducted on 200 diabetic patients in health centers affiliated with the primary health care sector in Jalawla. A questionnaire was created for the purpose of the study using the interview technique. The questionnaire consists of 27 items. Results: As a result, 39% of patients with diabetes were between the ages of 61-70 years. 56.5% of the participants in the study were male. In addition, the results showed that diabetes had a moderate effect on quality of life. As a result of the study, quality of life; While it was quite significant in terms of age, occupation, education level, and previous illness, it was not significant in terms of gender and marital status. Conclusion: The results showed that there are statistically significant differences between Quality of life for type 2 diabetic mellitus and age, occupation, education level and previous disease while non-significant in marital status and gender
