School administrators' views on leadership capacity and anxiety about the use of the authority

The purpose of this research is put forward the views on leadership capacity and anxiety about the use of the authority of primary and secondary school administrators. That schools located in Ankara' s Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Keçiören, Mamak, Sincan, Yenimahalle districts. For this purpose determined the the views on leadership capacity and anxiety about the use of the authority of school administrators, demographic characteristics of school administrators have determined whether there is any impact on these views and examined the realationship between the leadership capacity with the anxiety about the use of the authority. The population of the research carried out by the relational scanning model, constitute administrators of schools in the primary and secondary levels in Ankara' s Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Keçiören, Mamak, Yenimahalle districts. In 2015-2016 academic year, 1619 primary and secondary school administrators were in the population. These administrators consists of 513 principals, 35 chief deputy principals and 1071 deputy principals. With the method of determining convenient sample, reached 403 school administrators from 321 of them in return is provided. The data obtained in the study, "IBM SPSS 22 statistics package" research program related data processed and resolved. For analysis of the data the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, frequency, percentage, standard deviation, Mann-Whitney U, kruskal-Wallis, spearman's Rho correlation analysis and simple regression analysis were used. When views on the anxiety of using the authority of school administrators is examined, the highest average seen on sub dimension of 'staff works' with the level of "I worry very little". The lowest average seen on sub dimension of 'administration works' with the level of "I worry very little". Overall average level of anxiety of using the authority of the school administrators surveyed is on the level of "I worry very little". When views on the leadership capacity of school administrators is examined, the highest average seen on sub dimension of 'co-operation and shared responsibility' with the level of "We are making good progress here". The lowest average seen on sub dimension of 'shared school vision' with the level of "We are making good progress here". Overall average leadership capacity of the school administrators surveyed is on the level of "We are making good progress here". The school administrators' views on the leadership capacity and anxiety about the use of the authority has been examined according to demographic information. School administrators' views on the anxiety of using the authority has emerged a significant difference in the sub dimension of "educational works" according to gender variable and in the sub dimension of "school discipline scheme works" according to age variable. A statistically significant correlation could not be determined between school administrators' views on the leadership capacity with the anxiety about the use of the authority.
