Abstract (EN)

This study was planned to investigate the effects of gross motor function level on sleep quality and quality of life levels in children with cerebral palsy. The study included 80 children with sleep problems and dec diagnosed with cerebral palsy (CP), whose ages ranged from 6 to 15 years. The assessments were applied face-to-face only 1 time to the children who agreed to participate while their parents were in the pediatrics room with them. The children's gross motor function test (KMFÖ), the gross motor function classification system (KMFSS), the children's sleep disorders scale (ÇUBÖ), and the quality of life scale used in children were evaluated with PedsQL. As a result of the evaluation, it was found that there was a significant negative relationship between KMFSS and KMFÖ, ÇUBÖ and Pedsql at an advanced level (p<0.001). It was found that KMFSS has a significant negative relationship with KMFÖ at an advanced level, and there is a significant positive relationship between KMFÖ and Pedsql at an advanced level (p<0.001). The sleep disorders scale in children has a significant negative relationship with the measure of gross motor function at an advanced level, and it has been found that there is a significant positive relationship between KMFSS and Pedsql at an advanced level (p<0.001). Pedsql has a significant negative relationship with the gross motor function criterion at an advanced level, and it has been found that there is a significant positive relationship between the gross motor function level and the scale of sleep disorders in children at an advanced level (p<0.001). As a result, patients with a high level of KMFSS, whole body involvement, and low functional capacity are likely to develop sleep disorders.
