Examination of şahid beyts in Şerhu ibn Tolun

In this study, one of the most important commentaries of al-Elfiyya about Ibn Malik's nahiv science is examined şahid couplets in Şerhu Ibn Tolun. With this, it is aimed to see how much Arab poetry is used in the work in question, how the style of showing the witness and how much importance is given to the consultation with poetry according to the other commentaries of al-Elfiyya. This study consists of introduction, two chapters and conclusion. In the introduction, the aim, scope and method of the study and the period in which Ibn Tolun lived and the concept of istishhad were given. In the first chapter, Ibn Tolun's life and his scientific direction are discussed in detail. Vital; name and tag, place and date of birth, family and children under the headings of death. Scientific direction; education and teachers, professorship and students, the tasks undertaken by the works are discussed in the form. In addition, after briefly giving information about Şerhu Ibn Tolun, the subject of our study, the issue of belonging to Ibn Tolun was also mentioned. In the second chapter, couplets brought as shahid in Sharhu Ibn Tolun, which is the main subject of the study, are discussed in detail. In this study, 290 couplets brought as witnesses in this work are examined in detail under the title of 56 nahiv. The couplets are discussed sequentially according to the subjects in Sharhu Ibn Tolun. For each couplet examined, couplet number, text of the couplet, poet, bahri, dictionary, kaside matla matı, various narrative, story, meaning, direction and sources of information are given. Where necessary, couplets found before and after the couplet were also translated and translated into Turkish. In the footnote, a short information about the life of the couplet poet is also given. However, this does not apply to all couplets. Because, some of the issues mentioned in some couplets have VI not been able to reach any information in the resources. In the conclusion, the results are stated. Commentary Ibn Tolun's remarkable difference from the other commentaries of al-Elfiyye in terms of poetry isthishhad is that some of the couplets of this commentary are not brought as shahid in the other commentaries of the work in question.
