Musical investigation of the works that accompanying the folk dances in Van region

Van region is a historical city that reflects its emotions and laments which made of cries screams joy, separation, longing and heroism into their lives. The purpose of this study is to identify, compile, note and analyze the folk dance works played in the Van region from a musical point of view. The thesis title "Musical Examination of the Works Accompanying Folk Dances in Van Region" is a descriptive study formed by qualitative research. This research consists of four parts. In the first part; It was mentioned the opinion that Turkish Folk Music and Turkish Folk Dances are among the rich elements of Anatolian culture and folk dances and folk music in Van region. In the second chapter definitions such as mode, method etc were included under the title of THM. The history of the province of Van, folk dances and genres played in the region, the musical structure of the region The data obtained by the method of scanning and interviewing were interpreted. A literature review has been made to shape the determined subject. Field studies were carried out with research writers and local artists who dominate the region. In this context, 22 works that have been played and sung in the region for years have been identified. In addition to the works registered in the TRT repertoire, the works that are not registered but have been performed in the region for years have been noted. In the fourth chapter, under the title of Findings and Comments, 22 works that have been compiled and notated are included in addition to the works previously in the repertoire. The collected melodies were noted and their musical analysis was made. In the findings obtained from the interviews I have made, it has been determined that some of the works that were previously noted are incorrect. It was seen that some of the studied works were performed with different modes (serials) and different styles.
