Determining the difficulties experienced by nurses caring for COVID-19 patients in a university hospital in patient

This study was planned as a descriptive and cross-sectional study to determine the difficulties experienced by nurses who care for covid patients in a university hospital. In this research, 302 nurses who volunteered to participate in the research were interviewed and included in the research. The criteria of being open to communication, being willing to participate in the study, and caring for a covid 19 patient were applied in the selection of the sample. Accordingly, nurses in Cerrahpaşa medical faculty hospital constitute the sample. At the end of the research, the thought that all necessary warnings and trainings were given to health workers against the risk of contamination, I was worried about the professional experience period and the inability to look after my children negatively, I had colleagues who lost their lives due to covid 19, I have lost income due to working conditions, In this process, I have started or increased smoking/alcohol, In this process, I used drugs with a green or red prescription, I had a hard time finding a place to stay, I thought I wish I hadn't been a healthcare professional because of my problems, I thought about resigning because of my problems ,the answers given to the questions were found to be positively and statistically significantly correlated with the duration of professional experience. As a result, first of all, determinations should be made in order to keep the workloads of nurses under control, to make working arrangements carefully and regularly, to regulate the physical conditions of working conditions, to provide sufficient materials and protective equipment and to protect the mental health of the nurses in all workplaces, especially in the covid 19 clinics It is recommended to create preventive and protective conditions.
