Abstract (EN)
The subject of this study is to examine the impact of awareness training given by Kamer, a non-governmental organization, to ensure gender equality in the formation of egalitarian gender roles. Gender Roles are acquired during early socialization, starting from early childhood. This process, which first started in the family, then continues through social institutions such as education, media, culture, politics and the social enviroment. This whole process constitutes the individual's self and determines his preferences, perception and perspective on social life. Therefore, it is important that the content of gender roles transmitted in early childhood is egalitarian. One of the important factors underlying the formation of a democratic social order is to ensure gender equality. Gender equality basically means accepting the differences between men and women and evaluating the roles they play in society equally. At this point, governments, non-governmental organizations and media institutions have important duties to ensure gender equality. In order to ensure and spread gender equality, education seminars and lessons can be given to non-govermental organizations, universities and public institutions that will bring the perspective of gender equality. However, when we think that gender roles were acquired in early childhood, trainings can be given to parents and children to gain equitable gender roles in this period. Accordingly, in this study, the awareness training given by Kamer, a non-governmental organization, on gender roles in early childhood was examined. In the research, qualitative research method and participant observation and in-depth interview techniques, which are the data collection techniques of this method, were v used. Basically, how education is effective in the formation of egalitarian gender roles has been evaluated based on the opinions of the women participating in the education and suggestions have been made.
