Abstract (EN)

Aim : In this study, we aimed to examine the factors that might be associated with recurrence in patients with stage 2 colon cancer. Materials and Methods : In this study, a total of 129 patients who were diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer and presented to the Dicle University Faculty of Medicine Hospital between January 2010 and April 2023 were included. Patient records were retrospectively reviewed. We aimed to investigate the effects on recurrence of factors such as age at diagnosis, smoking, alcohol consumption, tumor diameter, tumor grade, the need for emergency surgery at the time of diagnosis, presence of obstruction and perforation before the operation, presence of ileus at diagnosis, tumor location, tumor subtype, preoperative tumor markers CEA and CA19-9 levels, histological subtype of the tumor, whether they received chemotherapy, if they received chemotherapy - the chemotherapy regimen they were on, and whether the CT regimen included oxaliplatin and FAP. Results: In our study, no significant difference was found in overall survival times between patients diagnosed with T3N0M0 and T4N0M0 stages. There was no significant difference in the overall survival times of patients receiving adjuvant chemotherapy compared to those who did not. In our study, the preoperative Ca19.9 value, hemoglobin level at diagnosis, and albumin level at diagnosis were identified as independent predictors of recurrence. Key words: Colorectal cancer, prognostic factors, recurrence, disease-free survival
