Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between workaholism and work-life baance and work-family life balance among female academics working at a foundation university. In the litersture, workaholism is defined as an uncontrollable and persistent desire to work. Workaholic individuals often neglect non-work domains, which can negatively affect personal well-being and family relationships. For woman in particular, tradional gender roles make balancing work and family life even more complex. The research was conducted utilizing a quantitative research methodology based on the correlational survey model. The participants of the study comprised female academics working at a foundation university during the spring semester of the 2024-2025 academic year. Data collection was carried out through online questionnaire forms. Three distinct scales were employed as data collection instruments: the Workaholism Scale, the New Work-Life Balance Scale, and the Work-Family Life Balance Scale. The gathered data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 statistical software package. According to the research findings, a significant positive relationship was determined between the workaholism levels of female academics and their work-life balance. Similarly, a significant positive correlation was identified between workaholism levels and work-family life balance. These findings suggest that workaholism among female academics may engender positive effects on non-work life balance. It is anticipated that the results obtained will contribute to the development of policies aimed at ameliorating the working conditions of female academics and supporting their non-work life domains.
