Abstract (EN)
This thesis aimed to study the story of Joseph PBUH, as narrated by the Holy Qur'an as a narrative text consisting of a group of connected events that represent a raw material for the story, and the narrative structure of the story which based on events, characters and elements such as time and place. The story of Joseph differs from the artistic story in that it is a story that derives its material from reality and historical facts - as all stories of the Qur'an - and that it is a story in a complete surah in the Holy Qur'an, which indicates its importance. The study followed the descriptive analytical approach when analyzing the story into a set of events and elements, which constitute the narrative structure, and indicating how these elements mix in a creative way to influence the hearts of the listeners. The study concluded that this story was based on a main character, the character of the Prophet Joseph whose physical dimension (his physical beauty) played a driving role for the events of the story towards crisis. As for the social and psychological dimension, it appeared in Joseph's relationship with his father, whom he loved very much, and with his jealous and envious brothers, which diverted the course of the story into a great ordeal that the hero of the story experienced. And that the story relied on an exciting dramatic beginning that introduced the recipient to the developments of its events directly. The events began with Joseph's dream, then his brothers ordeal, then an ordeal with the minister's wife who sought to seduce him, then prison ordeal, then innocence and the great kingdom, and ended with the interpretation of his dream, and all this in an intense, accurate narration, an enjoyable theatrical dialogue, and a smooth transition between scenes so that cause and effect are interconnected. The function of events, time and place are integrated until the story is completed, and the study concluded that the divine narration is not surmounted by any narration, but rather that the miracle of the Qur'an includes its narrative miracle.
