Financial performance analysis in the health sector during the global epidemic COVID-19: The case of Turkey, Germany and Italy

Financial analysis measures whether the financial situation of the existing enterprises is sufficient. At the same time, it is an analysis technique in which results and suggestions are reached by examining the changes in the items in these tables between years or periods through financial statements in order to measure the direction of the development of the business. During the global epidemic Covid-19 process, countries have been adversely affected economically, socially and even culturally. At the same time, the Covid-19 epidemic, which seriously affected the field of health, affected health enterprises as well as many businesses. The aim of this research is to analyze how it affects health businesses operating in Turkey, Germany and Italy, which are under the influence of Covid-19, compared to the previous year. In order to achieve this aim, financial analyzes were made on the balance sheet and income statements by accessing the annual accounting records of health enterprises. In these analyzes, horizontal and vertical analysis techniques and some important ratio analyzes were used. According to the information obtained as a result of the analyzes, it has been observed that the Covid-19 epidemic has had a positive effect on health businesses, albeit partially, compared to the previous year.
