Investigation of the change of public storyteller concept on the present representatives of the change process

We cannot ignore art and theatre which is a part of art because their importance much in our custom. Theatre constitutes a big part of our culture and tradition. When we research Turkish Theatre, we can arrive "History of Traditional Turkish Theatre" and we can have knowledge of "Traditional Turkish Folk Theatre Varities". These varieties are; theatrical village play, light comedy, Karagöz, public storyteller and improvisational theatre. "Public Storyteller" took on meaning days of old. İt is known that "storyteller" in Central Asia. Storyteller started with shamanists and it expansived with bards. The word of "Public storyteller" came in Arabic literature in "m-d-h roots" and it means that "enthuse aover, praise, compliment and complimentary." Than these means, be comprehensive with time and they take on meaning of "imitator, folk storyteller". In the process, public storyteller is an important part of theater with mimics, vitalizations, some equipments and theater stages. In this thesis, publis storyteller's mean, history, qualities, importance in today analyzed and "what we can do for making lively it". Key words: Traditional Turkish Theatre, public storyteller
