Evaluation Of Quality Of Life And Related Factors In Parkinson's Disease Student's Name: Meltem CİVİL Consultant : Prof. Dr. Zehra DURNA Department : Nursing Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the factors affecting the quality of life of Parkinson's patients, to evaluate them and to contribute to the development of appropriate nursing approaches in Parkinson's disease. Material and Methods: 61 patients with Parkinson's disease were enrolled in a private hospital in Istanbul. After the institutional permisson and ethics committee approval, the data were obtained with questionnaires. Personal Information Form, Hoehn and Yahr Clinical Staging Scale, PDQ39 Parkinson's Disease Survey. The questionnaires were evaluated using the SPSS 21.0 program. Results: According to the results of the research; the majority of the sample was male patients, the majority being married and primary school graduates. It was determined that the majority of the patients were stages 1-2 and 3 in the Hohen Yahr stage. It was determined that the majority of the sample received oral treatment and the vast majority used treatment regularly. When the distribution of adverse effects of currently treated patients were examined; it was found that the patients were mostly experiencing stomach problems. In our research that examined the quality of life of patients, it was determined that the quality of life was the most affected by the mobility of the patients. After the mobilization, daily living activities, emotional status, stigma, social support, cognition, communication and pain were assessed.
