The importance of piano accompaniment and piano accompaniment methods for the music teachers

In our country, it is seen that most of the students studying music education and graduating from the department of fine arts of the faculties of education and from the department of music education of conservatories choose the job of teaching music. During the undergraduate level education, besides their lessons of piano programs, students studying music education are thought to need the skills to accompany piano lessons, which is a must of being a music teacher and to compose practical notes to those works whose accompaniment notes were not composed by the composer himself. Based on this idea, the aim of this research is to emphasize the contribution of the accompaniments that are done with piano to the music education, help teachers develop more practical and accurate methods in piano accompaniments in teaching school songs, folk songs and the works that were written in the form of Turkish Music, and also help teachers understand the harmonic and rhythmic structures of the songs that teachers teach in classes and enable them to understand how the piano accompaintment changes the characteristics features of songs taught. As a result of the research, the contribution of the piano accompaniment to music education is emphasized, examples of the accompaniment that can be done by music teachers with a piano are given.
