Abstract (EN)

Although the studies attributed the etiology of coronary slow flow (CSF) to microvascular and endothelial dysfunction, widespread atherosclerosis, inflammation, and platelet dysfunction, its pathophysiology has not been clarified. Recent studies have shown that salusin-β have an effect on the pathophysiologic processes of atherosclerosis. Therefore, we aimed to determine serum Salusin-β levels and its correlation with CSF. 39 patients with CSF and 40 healthy subjects were included in the study. When the characteristics of slow flow and control group were compared; age, BMI, systolic blood pressure, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, smoking rates were similar (All p values> 0.05). Male sex ratio, diastolic blood pressure, hypertension (all p-values < 0.05), -high sensitive C- reactive protein (2.80 ± 1.2 vs. 2.21 ± 1.2 mg / dl, p = 0.011) as well as salicide beta (1205 [330-2092] versus 162 [29-676], pg / ml, p <0.001) values were significantly higher in the slow-flow group. When the angiographic image frame count (IFC) values of both groups were compared; left anterior descending coronary artery IFC (27.8 ± 9 versus 19.7 ± 3.7, p < 0.001), circumflex artery IFC (22.7 ± 10 versus 15.6 ± 3.2, p <0.001), right coronary artery IFC (23 ± 7 versus 13 ± 3, p <0.001) and mean IFC (24.8 ± 5.4 vs 16.7 ± 3.7, p < 0.001) were significantly higher in slow-flow group in comparison to the control group. There was a good correlation between serum salusin-β and mean image frame count (R2 = 0.426; p > 0.001). When taken into single and multivariate logistic regression analysis, only body mass index (Unstandard Beta ± SE = 0.178 ± 0.08, p = 0.036) and serum salusin beta levels (Unstandard Beta ± SE = 0.006 ± 0.01, p <0.001) were determined as predictor of CSF. The salusin beta values above 516 pg / ml predicted the presence of CSF with 79.5% sensitivity and 85.7% specificity. In conclusion, serum salusin-β levels are one of the most important biochemical markers of the presence of CSF. Serum salusin-β of has a real role in the pathophysiology of CSF.
