Abstract (EN)
Umidi (d. 1571) is an Ottoman classical poet who lived in the sixteenth century. He has a Divan that has survived to the present day. Four copies of this Divan that have been remained so far are in the records. Umidi's Divan maintains its attractiveness as it has not been studied in detail before. This study aims to determine the beatuy elements, idioms and repeated word groups in Umidi's Divan. Umidi tried to polish his work by using literary arts and idioms skillfully in his poems. The poems in the poet's Divan, besides showing his skills, also mirror the literary understanding of his period. In the first part of this study, the beatuy elements of the beloved, and in the second part, the idioms and repeated word groups that the poet used in his poems have been examined. Key words: Umidi, Divan, Beauty elements, Idioms, Repeated word groups.
