Research of folk songs in the repertoire of TRT compiled by Yücel Paşmakçı

This study, which is titled as "Research of Folk Songs in the Repertoire of TRT Compiled by Yücel Paşmakçı", has been done as thesis study in the Haliç University, Institute of Graduate Education, Turkish Music Main Art Branch Master's Degree Program. Study has been prepared by considering to be important in terms of protection of Turkish Folk Music and transfer it to the next generations. It is considered that it will be useful for people interested in and perform Turkish Folk Music and students, who study music, to be informed about songs they perform. In addition, information about the studies of Yücel Paşmakçı, who adored his life to folk music, has been submitted and it has been aimed to be an example to people who want to study about compilation. Turkish Folk Music which represents our culture has lived for generations by spreading abroad. In Turkish Folk Music, which is a study area of folklore science, it has been provided to record songs without loss due to compilation studies. Many experts have been participated in the studies and added value for the creation of today's folk music repertoire. In the introductory part of the study, relationship of human, art and music has been explained shortly. Moreover, a short information related to subject of the study has been submitted. The names of the studies used as a source for the subject of the thesis have been submitted in the second part of the study, namely "Literature Research". Information about the structure and development of the study has been submitted in the third part of the study, namely "Materiel and Method". In the forth part, namely "Turkish Folk Music", information about folk music has been provided, its relationship with cultural transmission and folklore (Folk Science) has been submitted. Furthermore, concepts and information related to compilation and information about compilation studies in our country have been presented. In the fifth part, information about the life of Yücel Paşmakçı has been submitted, in the sixth part, 122 songs, compiled and noted by Yücel Paşmakçı, have been examined both musically and literarily, and data, tables and graphs have been presented. In the seventh part of the study, researches have been evaluated, and in the eighth and the last part, suggestions have been presented.
