Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to examine the perceived level of social support, perpetual anger and anger expression and emotional and behavioral problems of young people between the ages of 12-18 who are staying in the "Children Houses" affiliated to the Children Services General Directorate of "the Ministry of Family and Social Policy of the Republic of Turkey" and to determine whether these situations differ in terms of some variables. The sample of the study consists of 120 young people living in the European and Asian side of Istanbul between 12-18 years old. 4 forms were given to young people participating the study: Perceived Social Support Scale (Yıldırım 1997), Perpetual Anger and Anger Expression Styles (Özer, 1994), Strength and Difficulties Questionniare (SDQ), and Socio-demographic Information Form.In the socio-demographic information form which was used in the research, some information was collected; the age, the sex, the frequency of meeting with the biological family, the duration of stay in the institution, the number of siblings, the order of birth according to the siblings of the participant, whether there was a traumatic history in the past, and whether there was a psychiatric diagnosis. When the variables that predict behavioral problems are examined, it is seen that the perceived social support level and perpetual anger level from the institution employee significantly predicted the behavioral problems. It is observed that the anger control problems, the level of anger expression, the level of social support perceived by the family, and the level of social support perceived by the institution employees decrease as the age increases. It is found that as the duration of stay at the institution increases, the level of expression of anger and the level of social support perceived from the family decrease. It is found that as the frequency of meeting with the biological family increases, the level of expressing anger increases, and the level of perpetual anger decreases. For further research, it may be considered to re-investigate within different age and care models (child's home , child support centers, child care centers) to obtain new findings related to anger expression and behavioral disorders.
