Abstract (EN)

While social intelligence is expressed as skills for human relations, in some cases it can be defined as the knowledge of interaction and strategy that cultivates the ability of individuals to achieve their goals while managing other people with social navigation affecting the awareness of facts and the current conditions. To promote healthy life, there are number of life skills that individuals need to have and develop. These are the multifaceted abilities including cognitive, behavioral, personal and interpersonal skills. These essential skills covers all areas of life and they are essential for the individual to be successful in different environments like school, home, work etc. The acquisition of these skills is a process that begins and continues with the education of the individual. In this study, we investigated the effect of social intelligence on life skills on male and female football players. Within this context, it is revealed how and to what extent demographic factors affect social intelligence and life skills. Social intelligence and life skills scales were applied to male and female football players. T-tests and Anova were used to determine the differences between demographic variables regarding social intelligence and life skills, and regression analysis was used to determine the effect of social intelligence on life skills. It was determined that the average score of the social intelligence variable was higher in female football players and the average score of the life skills variable was higher in male football players. Social intelligence has a significant and positive effect on life skills in female football players. Since the p value of the social intelligence variable (p=0,00<0,05) is less than 0,05 and the t-value is also significant at all levels, the coefficient of the social intelligence variable is statistically significant. According to this result, it is necessary to increase social intelligence variable in order to increase life skills variable in female football players. Social intelligence has a significant and positive effect on life skills in male football players. Since the p value of the social intelligence variable (p=0,00<0,05) is less than 0,05 and the t-value is also significant at all levels, and the coefficient of the social intelligence variable is statistically significant. According to this result, it is necessary to increase the social intelligence variable in order to increase the life skills variable in male football players.
