Emotion analysis in Turkish music: Zirguleli hicaz and transpozed

In this study, Prof. Erol DERAN's mood analysis was conducted in the sample of taksim concert named "Zirgüleli Hicaz Travelogue". The Zirgüleli Hicaz maqam has five walls. Hicazkâr, Suzinak, Evcara, Suzidil and Şedaraban. The "Zirgüleli Hicaz Travelogue" taksim concert includes the transition to these five maqams. As a result of the researches of modern psychology and psychiatry sciences, especially in the last century, the definition of mood has been made and the formation processes of emotion have been shown as biopsychosocial. The effects of art on mood and the effects of mood on art have been tried to be explained with different theeories. However, until now, there is almost no research on the work, music genre, modality that is in the middle of this mutual interaction. The effect of a musical genre, sound on mood and, or the effects of mood on the musical genre, maqam has been studied, but the mood of the musical genre, maqam itself has never been investigated. The unique characteristics and frequencies of the tones that make up the makams were taken into account, and a multidisciplinary approach was maintained by using modern psychology and psychiatry analysis methods. This in the study, the taksims were notated and the transition analyzes were made. The partitions made in the analyzes were created according to the transition, flavor and performance technique. The group being worked on is consisted of 30 volunteers who do not have any psychological disorders before and are receiving, receiving music education. Hamilton Depression Scale (HAM-D), SCL-90 Symptom Screening Test (SCL-90), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI-I / II), and Temperament Character Inventory (TCI) were administered to these individuals. Mood Profile Scale (DP) was administered to 30 volunteers without any psychopathology before and after the concert. As a result of the comparison of mood profiles before and after the concert; It has been observed that Evcara maqam shows moderate melancholic features, Hicazkâr maqam contains peace, Suzidil and Suzinak maqams have a more neutral mood compared to other maqams, and Şedaraban has a medium level of melancholy. As a result, it can be said that in addition to the cultural and artistic accumulation of the selected makams over the centuries, the makams that mediate the expression of mood in individuals also have a mood.
