Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out to investigate the relationship between the nutritional habits observed in female university students during changes in mood and their healthy nutrition awareness. The study was carried out with 158 healthy female students between the ages of 18-26 who were studying at Haliç University and did not have any health problems and did not take nutrition lessons. The average age of the study group was 20.20 ± 2.18 years, the average height was 164.56 ± 5.93 cm, the average weight was 58.32 ± 10.12 kg and the body mass index (BMI) was 21.25 ± 7.61 kg/m2. Beck Depression, Emotional Appetite and Three Factor Eating scales were used in this study. For empirical analysis, the paired t-test was used to compare participants' depression levels and nutritional habits before and after the training, while the correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between variables. As a result of the analysis, it was determined that the scores of "Uncontrolled Eating", "Emotional Eating Positive Emotions" and "Emotional Eating Positive Situations" differed statistically significantly before and after the training (p <0.01). When the level of relationship between the scales was examined, there was a positive relationship between Uncontrolled Eating and Emotional Eating, Emotional Eating Negative Emotions, Emotional Eating Negative Situations (p <0.05). There is a positive relationship between pre-education BMI and Cognitive Restriction and Emotional Eating behaviors (p <0.05). When the participants' food consumption is examined; it was found that measurement of energy, protein, fat, CHO, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, Vitamin B1/thiamine, vitamin B2 /ribofl., niacin, pantothenic acid, vitamin B6 /Pyride., Biotin, folate, vitamin B12, calcium, iron, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, potassium, zinc, iodine, fluorine, manganese increased significantly after training (p<0.01). However, there was no statistically significant association between female students' pre-and post-educational Beck Depression scores, emotional eating, and cognitive restraint behavior scores (p>0.05). The reason for this may be the repetition of second surveys shortly after training due to time constraints. Despite this, even in this short period of time, there are significant and significant differences in the nutrition of female students caused by the state of emotion.
