Abstract (EN)

As it is known, Azerbaijan is recognized as an oil country in the world economic market. The Republic of Azerbaijan has great tourism potential. It is possible to note the natural resources, historical monuments, public geographical position, coastal zones of the Caspian Sea. This potential is important in reducing dependence on the oil factor. Today, international tourism is in the center of special attention in the Republic of Azerbaijan, and it is becoming the main force of the non-oil sector of the economy of this country. The tourism industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan has already started to develop. As a result of the observed state policy, Azerbaijan has been recognized as a new tourist destination in the world in recent years, and integration into the tourism market at the international level has been ensured. Tourism, which is a service sector, seems to be developing rapidly all over the world. Today, the tourism sector alone accounts for approximately 30%of the world's trade in services. Since the tourism sector is in contact with many large and small service sectors, it is impossible to accurately calculate its contribution to the country's economy. It was concluded that after 2003, especially since 2008, the tourism sector had a higher impact on the economic growth of Azerbaijan. This result was found using methods that give internal break periods. In the research, an overview of the tourism sector in Azerbaijan, the state policy of the tourism sector in Azerbaijan, the main problems and prospects of the tourism sector, as well as the impact of the tourism sector on the macro economy of Azerbaijan were studied.
