Works and artictic life of Diyarbakır Mustafa Canan

Minstrelsy tradition, which is an important expression of cultural diversity and richness as well as the cultural memory of Anatolia, has been shaped by the experiences of centuries and it is a versatile art that includes poetry, music and storytelling. The most critical characteristic of the minstrel tradition, which has its own tradition and performance, is that it could address a number of people by reflecting the lifestyle, outlook on life and aesthetic values of its period. Minstrel repertoire includes poetry, utterance and performance style of Minstrelsy tradition which has been transferred to the present anonymously and has the same formal characteristics.These kinds of styles can have different characteristics according to cultures and regions and can be named in different ways. In this study, the life, artistic life, works, musical analyses of his works and poems of Mustafa Canan who is one of the important representatives of Diyarbakır music tradition that carries its own characteristics in its cultural richness, history and folk songs, are included. after compiling and notating his works, their musical analyses have been handled. As a working method, the works of Mustafa Canan were consulted by making use of written sources and thanks to audio records taken during the field research and interviews. In the entry of the study, the problems related to the subject, the subject and requirements for explaining are explained. In the second part of the study, the literature/general information section, general information about the works done in the literature and artist and his place in the litarature are mentioned. As for the third part of the study, it is all about the geographical situation and climate, history, socio-economic structure, cultural structure, traditions and customs and music culture of the place where Mustafa Canan was born. In the fourth part of this study, detailed information about Mustafa Canan's life. In the fiveth part of the study, Mustafa Canan's thirteen works have been notated and these works have been examined in a detailed way in terms of their musical analyses. When it comes to last part of the study, Mustafa Canan's seven poems have been given. In the conclusion part of the study, all the information in the study has been evaluated and the findings obtained by evaluating have been given clearly.
